Well, I've had peace and quiet for a week now, and you'd think I would have gotten something posted before the last day the kids are away, but somehow I just enjoyed not having to do anything but take care of the baby. We went on vacation for a week this summer, then we were home for a week before Jason went on the ASP trip to West Virginia to be a part of a crew from church that built a back porch on to a family's home (still waiting on copies of those pictures so I can see them and post some) and then he came home to regroup for a week and all three of the older kids left for camp for a week (it'll be interesting to get a hold of the camera and see those pictures, too). All in all, the summer has flown by so far and I'm looking forward to reinstating the lazy day of summer in August!!!

V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N ... in the summer sun

Well, some sun, some rain, but it was still vacation. Our family took our annual trek to the beach for 10 days at the end of June. We were thrilled to be away from home and the daily grind. This year was Mary Elizabeth's first real exposure to the threes S's -- sun (mixed with clouds), sand and surf and boy does she love the surf part. She cralled directly in to the bay and probably would have stayed there for the entire vacation had dinner not been calling for her. Mallorie and Hannah rode quite a few waves on the boogie boards and Jason and Kevin did their fair share of fishing topping it off with a night of fishing on a headboat on Friday night before we left. The family his the boardwalk, rode the rides, visited the water park with the cousins and all in all had a wonderful time. We've been home for a week now and reality has set back in, but we have pictures to remember our vacation and have already started planning for our week next year.
