After a few relaxing days on the west coast of Florida we headed off to Orlando. We spent a day in Universal -- so much fun. The older kids road the roller coasters, Mary Elizabeth enjoyed all the Dr. Seuss rides and, of course, the Curious George play place -- We enjoyed lunch at Mythos, a Greek themed restaurant, for Jason's birthday, all in all a long, but fabulous day!
We relaxed a day at the resort and then, off to Disney!! We did Hollywood studios and then went to Chef Mickey's for lunch. There we got to see all the characters. The kids loved it. Kevin and I did, too.
After lunch, we went to Magic Kingdom! So many rides, so much to see, just never enough time!
For our last day in Orlando, we went to Sea World. I loved Sea World. I really want to take a ride on Shamu.
The animals were just incredible. We had so much fun and now we're almost recovered from the whole whirldwind of the trip. Now we can't wait to go again!!!
We took our big family vacation in August and went to Florida. Our trip had two stages -- the first stage was to visit some of Kevin's family on the west coast of Florida. We made an adventure of driving around Hurricane Faye to arrive just after the storm and spent our first full day getting settled into our resort and the evening with family at the local "Drum Circle". The guys drummed and the girls did some belly dancing and hoola hooping in the middle of the circle created by the drummers. It was a great evening spent with family and their community.
We also attended the baptism of the newest member of our family, baby Jackson Chaney!!!
Everyone loved the baby, he's sooo cute!!!
Mary Elizabeth couldn't get enough of him.
Our last evening there we enjoyed dinner in the hotel restaurant and just enjoyed relaxing as the sun went down on leg one of our trip. It was beautiful.
And we needed to rest up for the next part of our adventure in big fun!
The summer goes so quickly, and then, all of the sudden school starts and it is over and sometimes you can't even remember all that you did. At least that was seems to happen to me. Today, as I was downloading some photos I was reminded off all that we actually did this summer.
O course, in June, right after school was out, we headed to Uniontown for a family reunion -- I already posted pictures about that. Mallorie then went to Canada with her French class, each of the older kids spent some time at the beach with their grandparents, and we tried to get to the pool a couple times.
One Sunday we loaded the whole family in the car and headed to the Philadelphia Zoo. We saw lions and tigers and bears, oh my!!!
We also saw penguins and ducks, as well as elephants and reptiles and birds. We had a great time at the zoo and then headed to the Disney Channel Block Party being held the same day -- a good time was had by all, but in all honesty, it was just a prelude of what was yet to come!!!
