My New Thing
Mid-October already - wow. Halloween is just around the corner and then, bam, all of the sudden it will be Christmas. Somewhere tucked in there will be November. This year November will mean two 5K races for me - my first ever. My new lease on life includes a new hobby, which is running. Running for me is a solitary endeavor which clears my mind, pushes my body and keeps me from reverting back to old habits when stress and frustration come knocking at my door.
I have enlisted the help of the program "0 to 5K in Eight Weeks" I am on week 5 and have thoroughly enjoyed the program and my progress thus far. At this point, however, I have reached a setback. Earlier in the week I felt a slight pain in the back of my thigh -- I tried to run last night and it is now clear that I have strained or pulled my hamstring!!! UGH!!! Hopefully this weekend I will have recovered enough to get back to training -- fingers crossed.
