Mid Term
So here we are - in June - marking the midway point of this 2015 year. Some days it feels like things are plodding along at a snails pace and so drags it feels like everything is passing by in a blur.
I ran the Broad Street Run -- I finished, had a great time doing it and felt such a sense of accomplishment that it kept me on cloud nine for days (even with the pulled muscle that took nearly a month to heal).
We also celebrated Emme's 10th birthday with a whirlwind weekend of fun. We took her to see the Lego exhibit at the Franklin Institute and she and I went to Phillies game where she was treated like the princess she is :-). The Phils lost the game, but we had a blast!
The school year is almost over and we've had a flood of field trips, end of year projects and book reports -- and the search for any missing library books.
We are at the end of the end of the dance season. Recital weekend is almost here! Somehow, when we get to this point in the year Emme is always about done and I hear a lot of "do I have to go" (yes, just one more class, just one more rehearsal and/or it's recital day!!!) Here we are at the end of the road again this year and I'm so very much looking forward to seeing her up on stage again. Every year we seem to add another dance and I am reminded of that first recital four years ago and am amazed at the dancer she is becoming with each passing year.
It's summer in the city time again, we are looking at a potential heat wave and the fountain swimmers are out in full force (yuck). It means I get to take my lunch hour outside, enjoy the sunshine and soak up a little Vitamin D. The addition of Dilworth Park certainly has added a little something extra to the lunchtime routine.
I cannot believe that so much of this year has come and gone already, but I'm certainly looking forward to what the second half holds :-)
