Time Marches (and Aprils) on...

I cannot believe it is April and nearly Easter already. It seems like just yesterday we were ringing in the New Year. The kids are getting ready for a small (very small) break from school and beginning to dream of summer break. I'm beginning to dream of summer break too, when I only have to get two of us out of the house early in the morning instead of five!

Mallorie participated in the Junior High's production of High School Musical and totally enjoyed the experience. She made a lot of new friends and just broadened her perspective in a number of ways. We all enjoyed watching her up on stage and are convinced this will not be the only time we get that pleasure.

Jason continues to work hard in his studies and amazes me with the subjects he is interested in. He is growing into a very fine young man -- one who is eating me out of house and home -- but a fine young man none the less. I am still having a difficult time grasping the concept that MY SON will be in HIGH SCHOOL next year. Surely I'm not old enough for that!!!

Hannah and Mary Elizabeth are quite the duo. Sometimes I cannot get over how incredible Hannah is with Mary Elizabeth. She sits and reads to her and plays with her and takes a real interest in her every day. Consequently, Mary Elizabeth takes a real interest in Hannah. She calls for her often, not always at the most appropriate moments. We were sitting in church on Palm Sunday -- the Children's Choir and the Youth Choir were sitting up front as they would be singing during the service. When the Children's Choir went to the front and lined up to sing, a voice could be heard --- "HANNAH!! HANNAH!!" As the Children's Choir was signing -- "HANNAH!! HANNAH!!" Needless to say, Hannah had a mix of emotions, as was displayed on her crimson face -- All in all it was very cute, and I'm not quite sure how Jason and Mallorie felt about the fact that when they got up to sing there wasn't a peep -- but that's the other great thing about little ones -- they show their affection honestly and openly, without the hangups of equality. Hannah is the one that she interacts with the most. She loves them all, but she cheers for HANNAH!!
